Armistice Day

Today was signed away
another war
but it’s not peace,
they lied,
it’s armistice and suicide.

There’s no reason
what happens now.
Why are you asking why
when there’s no reason
what happens now.
Why are you asking why
when there’s no reason
it only matters how.

No, this is not a morbid song,
not with pale victory at hand,
it’s simply what happened.
Nothing could be done,
he hung hisself
from a tree.
Could have been you or me.
Another kid
from down the streeet
gone missing
and died alone,
burned in freindly fire
in the war at home.
Just like someone you know,
and nothing can be said.

No matter what you have read,
there's no difference
between a suicide pact
and this political act.
Maybe they all agreed
to end another war
but it’s not peace, they lied,
it’s armistice and suicide.

There’s no reason
what happens now.
Why are you asking why
when there’s no reason
what happens now.
Why are you asking why
when there’s no reason
it only matters how.

Without the courage to change
one war is won
while another begun.
Without the courage to be
you fall by your own hand.
And it's plain as day
nothing is lost
yeah, nothing is gained
with this ink
all hearts are stained
while this impasse remains.

There’s no reason
to buy this as history.
You can call it peace.
Whatever it is
it won’t last long,
these wars go on.
