After the YuleTide

Now after the Yule tide
has come in,
yes, the new years dawn
is rising again.
Yes, here it comes,
there from the East
on wing and on prayer
with the spirit of air.
And there to the South
is the spirit of fire
to again challenge our humanity
and rekindle our desire.
And to the West
with the spirit of water
blood, oceans, rain and tears
all flow together
like our days into years.
There to the North
comes the spirit of earth
to strengthen the resolve
that we must wake with open eyes
or we will sleep once more
in the still hands of time.
And this passing
the world will not mourn
but rename itself
and in time be reborn.
Around each axis
the great wheel spins
grinding diamonds to dust
blown across the landscape within.
In the end it is our part
to find the light in the dark
and find this at the Center
that is our heart
and bless the spirit of sacrifice.
